Sheffield has long been at the heart of the UK climbing scene.
Surrounded by the gritstone edges of the Peak District and home to a vibrant indoor climbing community, it’s a city where ropes have carried thousands of climbers up walls and across crags. It is these same ropes that inspired the wildsole SCAVENGER sandal.
Retired climbing ropes from Sheffield’s climbing centres and wider climbing community are collected, cleaned and repurposed into durable sandal straps. Designed for strength and longevity, these ropes already have years of adventure behind them before becoming part of a new one.
Each rope yields around 30 pairs of sandals, meaning every SCAVENGER release is genuinely limited edition. Once a rope has been fully used, that exact colour combination will never appear again.
wildsole SCAVENGER sandals are perfect if you’re looking for a lightweight, versatile barefoot sandal with a story behind it. Built for natural movement and everyday adventure, they can take you from city streets to trail runs, wild swimming spots and fun adventures.

Footbed: Slip Resistant wildgrip™ Footbed fully Oeko-Tex Certified, made in Spain.
Straps: Reclaimed climbing rope from Sheffield, made from high strength nylon.
Easily adjustable: Our simple strap design uses minimal materials to provide excellent comfort and security and is easily adjustable.
Barefoot / Minimal: Thin, flexible, flat, zero drop and with no toe box so toes are allowed to spread naturally when weight bearing.
Vegan Friendly: No animal products have been used in any part of these sandals.

There is one single, continuous strap on a wildsole sandal so they can be easily adjusted to fit almost every foot.

Our standard sizes are suitable for most people however if you have checked our templates and find your feet are too wide or your toes hang over the edge we can make a custom size for you. Just choose CUSTOM SIZE when you order and we will be in touch. This service is extra and the price will be reflected when you select CUSTOM SIZE.
You will need access to a printer for custom sizes and crafting time may take up to 14 days.
